Wow, what a great site! I wandered in after searching for the provenance on that “America is good…” de Tocqueville, um, quote. Dang, he shoulda’ said it! You ruined my day! Good thing your site compensated for the demotion of a truly great quote. I was wondering about the painting of George Washington at Valley Forge that you use across the top of your pages. It’s really nice. I looked for an artist’s name and the location of the original but couldn’t seem to find it. Is it in public domain now? I am normally a portrait painter, but I am so spitting mad, so positively full of rage at my government, that I am taking my visual talents elsewhere and creating a line of admittedly preachy, liberty oriented Tshirts. I’m looking for iconic Revolutionary images, and that one would sure fit the bill if it’s legal for me to use. Could you drop me a line about that? Thanks, Lonni

Adams in Patriotic Mode

“What do we mean by the American Revolution? Do we mean the American war? The Revolution was effected before the war commenced. The Revolution was in the minds and hearts of the people; a change in their religious sentiments, of their duties and obligations…This radical change in the principles, opinions, sentiments, and affections of the people was the real American Revolution.” John Adams
